The Color Room Challenge #129
My Sister My Friend

Hello everyone, thanks for calling by.
Well I have been having "withdrawals"
I just haven't had time to do any challenges for nearly two months!!!
Too much else going on plus a lot of DT work etc
but I have finally caught up.
I saw the current challenge over at The Color Room
& I just had to join in as green is my favourite colour.

I took inspiration for this layout from my good friend Heather Jacob.
Heather did a layout recently where she used all
white on white flowers & it looked amazing.
Thanks for the inspiration of all white Heather.

I did some lovely texture work on my background &
then proceeded to just about completely cover it up!!!
That was smart, NOT. Should have planned it better.
You can see some of it here peeking out underneath my photo.

I have used a sweet little 2 Crafty Chipboard Sentiment,
"My Sister My Friend".
The little mini Filmstrips at the side of my cluster are also from
2 Crafty chipboard.

A friend of mines two little girls were the Flower Girls at a Wedding
recently & she gave me these gorgeous photos.
Such beautiful little girls, Hannah & Maddie.

Next up I have used loads of my favourite Green Tara Flowers.
The large ones with the pearl centers are called "Sakura"
& are part of their newer fabric flower ranges.
I have also used some of their wired Velvet Leaves too.
The ribbon I have used for my bow is also from Green Tara too.

Well thats about all for today. Thanks so much for calling by.
Until next time.

My Green Tara DT Reveal
Two Totally Different Layouts
Using One NEW Product

"Timeless Beauty"
Hi everyone, thanks for calling by.
Today I want to show you my DT reveal for the Green Tara blog.
Turn this fantastic NEW "Wire Cord" from Green Tara into this.
Above is the AFTER.
Below is the BEFORE.
This is my new Favourite product.

This is a NEW "Wire Cord" from Green Tara.
I have used the Light Brown here to make my wreath.
It is fantastic & because it has wire in the middle it stays put.
You can bend it & twist it however you like & it just stays there.
It is quite soft too so it doesn't hurt your fingers.
Jasmine Shea did a similar thing with a single
strand of wire in a magazine last month,
so I think wreaths must definitely be fashionable at the moment
.

All I did to make this wreath was to wrap it around a bowl to
get a nice circle. Then I cut shorter  lengths
& twisted them around an Awl or
you could use a skewer if you don't have an awl.
Next up I just wound & twisted these shorter
curled pieces through the wreath to make it look realistic.

Next up I wired some Green Tara Roses in two sizes,
onto the wreath.
Lastly I finished off with a little Gesso here & there.
Hey presto. All finished.
From start to finish, it took me about twenty minutes to
make this wreath & I think it looks quite realistic.
All the chipboard I have used on these two layouts is from
 2 Crafty Chipboard of course.
I do love these NEW  little Chippie "Film Strips".

Next up on my layout I have used one the
gorgeous Green Tara laces.
This lace started life white & I coloured it up to match my layout
with a Tim Holtz Distress Stain. Wow that stuff is good
& this lace accepted the colour so easily with just one application.
On top of the lace I have used this lovely Pearl Trim which is
also another Green Tara product.

Lastly I finished of with a flower cluster & the jewel in the crown
is definitely this beautiful Green Tara "Heirloom" fabric flower in pink.

100% Boy

Well this time I decided to do a boy layout & I have still used
the same "Wire Cord" but instead of twisting it like in the previous one
I have just wrapped it again, around a bowl, & left it smooth.
I think it works equally as well.

On my page I have used another great Green Tara Herringbone ribbon.
I think it is very dramatic.

I really wanted this page to be a total contrast to the first one.
Although it is the same "Wired Cord" & the design of both pages
is almost the same, using the product in different ways they
really are completely different.

Thanks for calling by today & I hope I have inspired you to have
a play with this wonderful NEW product.

I Had Another Card Published

Well it has happened again. Much to my surprise,
18 months have passed since I submitted a card to
"Australia Cardmaking" magazine.
It was accepted & I had forgotten about it!!!
Then it turns up in the current issue Vol. 18 No.9.
Page #89. 18months later.
Can you believe it.
I know these thing take time, but.........
& you know what, I don't even like it anymore.
Hence that is why I haven't photographed it to share!!!
I am over it & I have moved on.
I think I have improved somewhat in those 18months.
I hope so anyway.
Until next time.

My White With 1 D.T. Reveal
"The Bride"

Hello everyone. I am a bit late in posting this layout, which was is
my DT reveal for this month for WW1.
I have been sick with the flu since last Thursday & as well as that
my Internet has been down at work for three days.
Thanks heavens it is finally back & happening today.
This months WW1 challenge is
White + Orange + Black.
I used lots of mediums & mists to create my background,
which is actually just a piece of white cardstock.

As always I have used some yummy  chippie pieces from
2 Crafty Chipboard, of course. These include...
The Bride

I've added a bit of sparkle here & there & I even made this big orange flower too.
It is a Spellbinder die.

All the rest of my flowers, flower sprays, roses, rosebuds,
skeleton leaves & lace are all from from Green Tara.
They just spoil us for choice.
They have just got lots of new colours in stock. So exciting.

Here is another close up.
Thanks for calling by today. Until next time.

My Kraft It Up DT Reveal
"Magical Memories

Hi everyone. Here is my DT layout for this months challenge over at

 SEPTEMBER COLOUR SWATCH

This months KIU challenge is a colour challenge.
Kraft + Green + Black + White

As you can see I have used this lovely 2 Crafty chipboard Flourish Vine &
my title "Magical Memories"
is also one of theirs too. I have also used one of their
 cute little Bird Houses
on the right side of my photo.

All of these beautiful flowers are from Green Tara of course.

Next up I had some fun creating some nice textures on my background.

Lastly I finished off with a little stamping.
Sorry todays post is a bit short & sweet,  but I am quite ill with the flu
& so I have cut this a bit short.
Hopefully will be feeling a little better in a day or two.
Until next time.
