My "Heart & Soul / The Color Room"
August DT Reveal
"Kale & Ashlee"

Hi there scrappy friends.
Today I have my DT reveal for the current August challenge over at
The Color Room.

This is the current colour palette #171

At first I wasn't sure what photo to scrap & when I thought about it
I just knew this wedding photo from my youngest sons wedding last year
would be perfect. It rained torrential rain ALL day & didn't stop once.
Lucky they had a very good innovative photographer & he took them
underneath a big bridge (for cover) down on the waterfront near where
we live. I have to say I think this photo is incredible & such a great idea
to use the umbrellas as props. He turned a negative into a positive!!!

I put sooooo much pressure on myself with this layout because
this is the first of his Wedding photos & I wanted it to be the best
page I had ever done, but I think we all know what happens when
we put that sort of pressure on ourselves !!!!
I am not  happy with it. Just too much self imposed pressure.
These are not colours that I would normally use but I figured
that is what a challenge is all about.

I have used lots of 2Crafty chipboard
including this big corner flourish which I cut into
several pieces, they also custom made their names for me too. :)

Lots of gorgeous flowers & another new 2Crafty piece is this umbrella.

Another part on this challenge was to use some "fruit bag mesh" !!!!
I though how the heck & I going to incorporate a fruit bag into a
wedding layout. Well I cut it up, painted loads of gesso on it to
disguise what it really was, & while still wet, I sprinkled it with glitter.
I thought it turned out pretty good for a recycled fruit mesh bag!!!
Shame you cannot see the sparkle in the pics.

Make sure you pop over to the Color Room  & check out what all
the other DT have done. So much great inspiration for an unusual
colour palette. They all look amazing.
Hope you too can find some time to play along with us.
Until next time.
