My "Scraps of Darkness" Kit Club
DT Reveal Part One
"You"

Hi there friends. Today I have part one of my DT reveal for Scraps of Darkness Kit Club
This is their newest kit called "Weathered & Worn", how nice are these goodies?

The papers I have used from the kit are from Marion Smith & are from the
Garment Distric range. I have done lots of fussy cutting again on this one.

I had this photo a friend gave me & I have been waiting for just the right
layout. When I saw these papers I just knew they would be perfect.

I have also used lots of chipboard pieces from 2 Crafty chipboard too,
including my title, chicken wire & cogs.

After some mixed media background work I set about adding all the little
flowers that I cut out from these gorgeous papers & just kept layering up.

These newsprint leaves were also in the "floral add on" which is
also available from SOD to co ordinate with these papers.

Lots of yummy layers to add to the whole shabby theme.

These cute little canvas tags were also in the kit, so I have simply added
a few poked in here & there with all the layers.

Well thats all from me today.
Make sure you pop over to their BLOG or FACEBOOK page & check out
what all the other girls have done with this fabulous kit.

Or here is a link to their STORE if you would like to get your hands
on this fabulous kit too.

Until next time.

Scraps of Darkness DT Reveal
Part Two
"Magical Memories"

Hi there, thanks for calling by.
Today I have part two of my DT reveal for the
"Scraps of Darkness" kit club using their July "Believe" kit.

I just adore these papers that were part of the kit & the floral
one was just screaming to be "fussy cut". So many gorgeous
flowers on the one piece of paper.

This little bird was also on the paper so I cut him out too.
I have also used one of the Prima Resin Frames from last
months kit too. I firstly gave it a quick coat of gesso followed
by some aqua acrylic paint & then finished it off by wiping
it over with some gold Viva Inka Gold paste.
Viola, a perfect match.

As well as lots & lots of fussy cut flowers, I have also used
a lot of flowers that were in both the kit & the floral add on
& I have also tucked some of the green flower moss in
amongst the flowers for a touch of realism.

I have given some of the flowers a little spray
with some mists to intensify the colours even more.

I have also used one of the metal key holes, also from the kit,
but by firstly giving it a wipe over with a little gesso to prime it,
I was then able to paint it to match my resin frame. Too easy.

A gorgeous chipboard title from 2Crafty chipboard.

I have also used some of this fabulous ribbon that was also
included in the kit & I have poked some into the frame & some
more into my bottom corner cluster for a lovely finishing touch.

Thanks for taking the time to call by & for any comments
you would like to leave.
Until next time.

"The Best of Friends"

Hi there friends, thanks for calling by.
Today I have part two of my August DT reveal for
This layout is of my best friend & myself & my Godaughter.
2Crafty products used...
"The Best of Friends" - title
Square Collage Panel
Dandelions
Leafy Twig Branches

This 6" "Square Collage Panel" is another new release peice from 2 Crafty.
They do a new release of 30 plus pieces every 6 to 8 weeks so there is always
something new to inspire us all. I have again cut this panel into several pieces.
I think it really makes a statement & gives your layout a modern & punchy look.

My title, "The Best of Friends", is another of their new release pieces.
You can also see in this close up tucked in at the side of the title,
I have used some of their chippie  "Dandelions" too.
I have added some gold microbeads to these for detail.

I have also tucked in around my flower clusters some of their chippie
"Leafy Twig Branches" .

Lots of mixed media, stamping & flowers & hey presto, all finished.
Make sure you pop over to the 2Crafty blog & check out what all the
other designers have been up to. I know you won't be disappointed.

Guest Designing With
The Scrap of Darkness & Scraps of Elegance DT Girls
At Scrap Around the World
And the Berry71Bleu Challenge too

"Remember"
A Tribute to My Great Grandmother

Hello friends. Thanks for calling by.
Today some of the design team girls from both the
are guest designers over at the Scrap Around the World blog.
How lucky am I, I am fortunate enough to be on both of these fabulous teams
so I get to play along twice this month with this amazing moodboard
which was created by Marilyn Rivera.

Scrap Around the World  August Moodboard

Now for my layout I have have gone with the whole sewing vibe
inspired by all those gorgeous little cotton reels in the top right picture.

I have based my layout on the current sketch from
Berry71Bleu challenge blog.

Woo Hoo I just found out that this layout was'"FEATURED"
over at Berry 71 Bleu.

This photo is of an old "Singer" treadle sewing machine which is the exact
type that my dear old Great Grandmother taught me to sew on when I was just
a small child of about 8 years old. I found this pic on the internet & I just had
to use it. Definitely a trip down memory lane for me.
So I dedicate this layout to my sweet old Gran who taught me how to sew.

I have used various things from the Scraps of Darkness store, including the
papers, flowers, rub ons & a metal kethole etc.

I have incorporated this sweet tape measure ribbon which I have tied into a bow.
A thimble from my own sewing kit that I actually cut in half & painted to match!!
As well as an old needle threader tucked in at the back of the flowers.

I have had these gorgeous little scissors that were given to me by a dear friend
& I have been waiting for just the perfect project to use them on. I figured this
was definitely the right project. Some  little cotton reel labels & some sewing
along both the top & bottom of my layout in keeping with the whole sewing theme.

This fabulous chippie dressmakers manequin & mini word from my
favourite chipboard company, 2 Crafty Chipboard of course.
I do so looove that mannequin.

Another little tape measure that I stamped & cut out
tucked in at the left of my photo.

Lots of little cottons & other sewing paraphernalia die cuts layered in here & there.

Along with lots of mixed media to create my background.
I hope I have inspired you in some small way to perhaps play along
with us this month too.
Until next time

My 2Crafty August DT Reveal
Part One
"Be Yourself"

Hello there 2 Crafty fans, thanks for calling by.
Today I want to share part one of my August DT reveal with you
& I have used some of their latest released pieces. Looove them all.

2Crafty products used..
6" Bubble Grid Panel
Title-"Be Yourself"
2014-Date
Leafy Shrub Set #2

After a quick coat of gesso I just painted this cute little title, "Be Yourself" with some Tim Holtz
Distress Crackle Paint. Too easy & it gives the chippies a great texture too.

Now the feature chippie piece on this layout would have to be this newly
released "Bubble Grid Panel". It is actually a 6" square but I have cut it
into pieces & placed it all around my photo & I have still got lots left to use
on another project. All I have done with this chippie piece is to colour it
with a black ink pad. It doesn't get much easier than that.

I just loooove the look of plain black chippies with bright colours
on a layout. I think it packs a punch.

Some nice background textures using mixed media & stamping,
creates a good backdrop for the plain black chippies.

In the next two photos you can see I have used a couple of the pieces of the
"Leafy Shrub Set #2" which again I just coloured with a black ink pad.
They do look good tucked in with your flower clusters.

Here you can see the "2014" tucked in underneath the photo
Great way to turn the date into an embellishment.

.
Well thats all from me today, I'll be back in a few days with part two
of my August reveal for 2Crafty chipboard. Hope you will call by again.

Until then
