2 Crafty DT Post
"Memories"

Hi all. I thought I had better post something on my blog as this month I have been so busy with lots & lots of DT work & lots of other fab things I can't share yet, that my  poor little blog has been a bit neglected!!!
This is my DT post I have just done using lots of my favourite 2 Crafty chipboard. I have been eyeing off this great 2 Crafty page frame, called "Albert Square Frame", for ages now & the other day a friend gave me some beautiful Wedding pics of her daughter who got married recently & I knew instantly what I wanted to do with them. This frame was just perfect for the job. I wanted to do something over the top, hey it is not every day you get married & a Wedding pic deserves something a bit special.

As you can see I have also used lots of yummy Green Tara Flowers, leaves, crystal sprays & also one of their beautiful ribbons which I have simply tied into a bow. I am very into bows on my layouts lately.  Must be another phase I am going through!!!!

I have given my chipboard frame some  texture using Impasto Medium & simply kept it white. I figured there was enough else happening on my page. I have also used a 2 Crafty mini word & one of their gorgeous Butterflies. For more pics & info on this & lots more layouts pop over to the 2 Crafty blog.
Thanks for calling by. Until next time. Cheers Di  xo

Sweet Girl Layout & Card

Hello everyone, thanks so much for stopping by.  I haven't  posted anything for well over a week.  It is not often that that happens but I have really been busy with a lot of DT work that I cannot share yet. I have got a couple of really great things happening behind the scenes too. So stay tuned.  Today I would like to share a layout & a card I have made. This is actually my DT post over on the Green Tara blog. Pop over & take a peek around. The Green Tara DT girls really do some amazing work.  You probobly know most of them. Of course I have  used  lots of yummy, you guessed it, Green Tara  goodies.
I have also used lots of  beautiful chipboard pieces from 2 Crafty as well.

On my layout I have used these gorgeous 2 Crafty Scalloped Circles. These come as a 12" nested sheet of all different sized scalloped circles. I am really into circles at the moment. I'm sure it must be a phase I am going through!!! Anyway, I have also used another 2 Crafty chippie piece, this lovely "Lucy's Flourish" which I have used to place my words on.

All of these gorgeous flowers as well as this beautiful ribbon I have tied into a bow, are all from Green Tara on course. They just have so many beautiful things. I am very fortunate to be part of their Design Team. Isn't it wonderful when you are asked to use such beautiful products!!! I just LOVE it.

While I had my desk in a mess I thought I would make a card to use up some of the left overs. Again all the flowers, ribbons & lace are all from Green Tara & the little chippie Card Greeting & Butterfly are from 2 Crafty. I just stamped up a background & threw some Irredescent Medium around to give a bit of shimmer. Too easy.
Thanks for calling by. Sorry I have been MIA. Until next time.
Cheers Di  xo

CSI #18
Bloom & Grow

Hi everyone, I have just finished my layout for #18 over at CSI.
Now from the "Evidence" criteria I have used four things. Flowers plus a  large oversized flower, leaves, for something "twisted" I have twisted some of the vines. For the "Testimony" part of the criteria I used two of the inspiration words, ie Growth & Bloom as well as I added a  flower to my little journalling tag.

For my background, which took about four  hours to do,  & the photos absolutely do NOT do it any justice, it is all gold & shimmery, but unfortunately that doesn't show up, I have gone crazy & used loads of gesso, impasto medium, several different coloured mists, paint, inks & stamping. I do so love these techniques for the background which I learnt in some online classes taught by the super talented Solange Marques. If you look close at the background you will see the detail I'm talking about.

I finished the background off with a gorgeous "Irredescent Gold" Glimmermist. I love the way it gives the entire background a lovely gold shimmer.

I have also used one of the NEW Dusty Attic chippie doors which I have given a Faux woodgrain look too. With the door & the flowers I was trying to create a whole garden look!!
Thanks for stoppin by.  Until next time.
Cheers Di  xo

TCR #109 "Simply You"

Hello bloggers, I hope you all had a great weekend . Today I have a page that I had scrapped a few months ago, some of you may remember seeing it before. I have never been totally happy with it, you know how it is!!! I think we all feel like this from time to time. When I saw the current colour pallette over at The Color Room I thought of this layout, so I took it out, pulled a few things apart, added a few things, changed a few things &  I think I am finally happy with it!!!
I have to say I do love these colours together, very rich & strong.
The lady in my layout is my Grandmother & this photo was taken circa 1920. Don't you just love the hairstyle, NOT!!!! I suppose she would have been quite the fashionista in her day. These photos were actually a photo strip taken in a photo booth. I didn't know they had photo booths back in 1920!!!
I have done lots of fussy cutting here on this fabulous Graphic 45 paper, it was just the perfect paper range to go with these pics. I have used a 2 Crafty chipboard Circle Flourish to place my title on.
All my little flowers are from Green Tara of course. The blue roses were cream & I simply misted them to get the right shade of blue that I needed.
I have journalled on a little tag that I have tied with some netting & tucked in in behind the main photo. Thanks so much for stoppin by. Until next time.
Cheers Di  xo

My Kraft It Up Design Team Layout
"It's All About the Chocolate"

Hi everyone. Can you believe we are in May already!!! Nearly half way through the year. Where has the time gone! Well with the NEW month comes a NEW lot of challenges. This is my DT layout for this months Kraft It Up challenge. This months criteria is to ask either your kids or hubby what Easter means to them. Now, I thought long & hard about this question, not wanting to get "heavy" in a public forum, then I came across these pics of a friend on mines little one, & my question was answered.
"It's All About the Chocolate When You Are Two"

One of my friends had given me these pics only recently. I am surrounded by both family & friends who don't scrapbook!!!! I just don't get it. How could you have lovely  pics like this & not want to showcase them by scrapbooking them? I just don't get it. I have only one scrapbooking friend, all the rest are just not interested & are happy for me to do it for them!!!! Anyway, I suppose it is my good fortune as I have this never ending supply of photos.

As you can see I have done lots of layering, distressing, sewing & included loads of textures. I would have to say I am a very "tactile" scrapper. The more textures the better. There was just so much I wanted to include in this layout but just couldn't fit it all on. As you can tell I don't do "minimalist". I so enjoy the "journey" as much as the "destination". I admire people that do, but I can't!!!
Well thanks  for calling by, & I hope you join in with us this month over at   Kraft It Up  & maybe get some of those great Easter snaps onto a layout. Until next time.
Cheers Di  xoxo
