#98 The Color Room "Sweet"

Hi everyone, here is my layout, I have just finished, I didn't think I would make the deadline. I have been sooo busy this week. So glad I did as I am rather pleased with it, all things considered.  This is for challenge #98 over at The Color Room. I actually did this layout several weeks ago but I soooo was not happy with it, so, I totally pulled it apart & totally remade it, as these pics were too nice not to use. This layout started life green & has ended up purple!!!
I have used 2 Crafty chippy circles, frame & little birdhouse. I so love that little frame that I have put my word on. I have also done some stamping, misting, painting & I used a new "Sand Medium" on my circles before I painted them white just to get some nice texture happening.
Anyway, thanks so much for dropping by & I hope you like my layout. Until next time.  Cheers Di  xoxo

Scrap the Boys February Challenge
"Everyday Moments"

Hi everyone, what a week it has been. I have been so so busy that I was starting to worry  in case I didn't get this finished in time, having said that, this layout was one of those that just came together so easy. Don't you just love it when that happens, I know I do. I was so lucky on the weekend I got to do two boy layouts (one I can't share just yet though) I always love doing boy layouts after so many girlie ones, it makes a pleasant change.  Anyway this is my layout for this months challenge over at Scrap the Boys blog. This months criteria was a sketch.
Ah I do love a good sketch & this was no exception. Thanks Mel I love this sketch. It is so good to see every one elses  interpretation. They always look so different.
On my layout I have done loads of layering, edge distressing, sewing, painting & stamping & generally used up lots of things out of my stash, which is always a bonus!! I even got to include some metal bits & pieces, I do so love metal bits on boy layouts.
Thanks so much for calling by, I hope you like my layout. Until next time.   Cheers Di  xoxo

White With 1 February Challenge
"Our Little Sunshine"

Hello again. Today Iwant to show you my White With 1 layout for February. This month the  criteria is WHITE + LEMON + 3 PHOTOS. I have a real thing for yellows lately. Until recently I don't think I had ever scrapped in yellows, I don't know why!! Now I just love yellows.
On my layout I have have done my signature edge distressing & sewing around the edges. I have also created a brick wall with Gesso &  used lots of Glimmermist too. I have cut my circle out, stamped it, distressed the edges & sewn it. I have also stamped & "fussy cut"  these little flowers & branches. Such a sweet little stamp. I only got it this week & I just had to use it!!!
I have hand cut some little yellow doilies to put underneath my photos too. Lastly I have added some flowers & this cute little chipboard hedghog & word from 2 Crafty. I am rather pleased with how this has turned out. How could you not be pleased with these photos, they are sooooo cute. These were given to me by a dear friend, thanks Donna!!! Well thanks for stopping by. Until next time.     Cheers Di  xo

My Green Tara D.T. Blog Post
"The Eyes are the Windows to the Soul"

Hello everyone. Today I thought I would share my Green Tara DT Blog post with you. We have just given the Green Tara blog a makeover, thanks to a lot of help from the very very talented Mistra Hoolahan. Is there anything that girl can't do? Thanks again Mistra for everything, the NEW blog background looks amazing. If you haven't been over there for a while, pop over & see whats been happening. Anyway this layout was my contribution for this week. As you can see I have used lots of yummy Green Tara flowers, actually they are all Green Tara. Most of them started out white & I Glimmermisted them to the colours I wanted. I have also used Diamond Dust on the edges of the green ones & Irredescent Medium on the little blue Rosebuds just to add a bit of shimmer. This  gorgeous lace & the lime trim as well as the beautiful bow are all Green Tara goodies. They just keep adding such beautiful things to their range & they are so well priced. Anyway thanks for dropping by. Until next time.   Cheers Di  xo

CSI Challenge #5 "Simply You"

Hi everyone. I have just finished my layout for challenge #5 over at CSI. I didn't think I was going to make this deadline. I stayed up until after midnight last night to get it finished & I had to photograph it & post it this morning at work. Talk about cutting it fine.  Now I know the quality of my photos  is not great, but these photos were actually taken in a photo booth back in the 1920's, so all things considered, I suppose we all have to forgive the poor quality!!! How lucky am I to have  photo booth photos that are this old?
This young "Fashionista" is my own Grandmother, Malvina Emily, when she was just a girl, & this photo was taken in about 1924. Don't you just love the 20's hairstyle, NOT!!! All jokes aside I am very lucky to have this & many other really old family photos that I am endeavouring to scrap.
I have done a lot of  "fussy cutting".  with an old paper I had,  I thought it went perfectly to create this whole theme. I have also used this 20's inspired chipboard piece from 2 Crafty.
I know I haven't left much negative space but sometimes rules just have to be broken!!! For the "Evidence" part of this challenge I have used a frame, a corner & leaves & for the "testimony" part I have  used an advertisement & showcased a "slice of my Grandmothers life". I have done rather a lot of journalling on the back of the layout, I didn't want to clutter the layout up anymore. I just ran out of room!!!
Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.      Cheers Di  xoxo

#96 The Color Room "Days Gone By"

Hi everyone. Just finished my layout for this weeks challenge #96 over at The Color Room. I just love this paper range. So beautifully old fashioned, it gave me the chance to do Vintage again. I so love doing Vintage. I have done some "fussy cutting" here & I have used a gorgeous 2 Crafty chipboard frame as well.
I have also used lots of yummy Green Tara flowers & lace, lots of butterflies, some Glimmermisting, sewed around the edges & finished off with some edge distressing. Hey presto, all finished.
I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.    Cheers Di  xoxo

My 1st 2 Crafty D.T. Blog Post
"Captured Moments"

Hi everyone, I am so excited to share my first blog post with you as part of the 2 Crafty Design Team. I am very honored to create along side a team of  very talented  girls. I so love  2 Crafty chipboard, so many beautiful items to choose from. How lucky am I, I get to create using all this yummy 2 Crafty chipboard as well as being on the Green Tara  DT & getting to use an unlimited amount of gorgeous flowers, ribbons, laces & trims. I think I must have died & gone to "Scrapbooking Heaven". Anyway here is my first post as part of the  2 Crafty DT.
I have used this fabulous 2 Crafty chipboard title "Captured Moments". I think it sums up the moment perfectly.
Next I used a gorgeous flourish from 2 Crafty called "Carita's Swirl". It is sooooo nice. I thought it was perfect for this soft & girly layout.
As you can see I have also used lots of yummy Green Tara flowers & lace also.
Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.    Cheers Di  xoxo

Kraft It Up February Challenge
"Puppy Love"

Hi everyone. Here is my very first DT layout since I joined the Kraft It Up Creative Team. This month is the month of "love" so KIU have gone with that theme. Now it doesn't have to be boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife type of love, it can be love of any sort. Think outside the square!!! The only other stipulation is that your layout has to have some pink in it somewhere. Sounds like fun, pop over to the blog & check all the other DT's awesome layouts to get a little inspiration.
Now on my layout I have chosen to do "Puppy Love". These pics are very very special to me. They are of my other little staffy, Chloe, that I lost to cancer a few years back. I loved her so much & I still miss her terribly. These pics were taken not long before she passed away.
A friend of mines  daughter took these pics including all the props. Notice the pink feather boa, pearls & she has got her laying on some pink satin. So girly!!! I thought this months  theme so very appropriate for these very special pics.
I have misted the butterflies in white, used lots of Gesso on everything,  added some  doileys & these yummy little wooden hearts. I have used some fab little Green Tara flowers that I have also misted in various colours.  Lastly the lace & gorgeous mesh that I have tied my bow with is also one from Green Tara.
I hope my layout gives you a few ideas & perhaps a little inspiration to join in the fun over at Kraft It Up.
Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.      Cheers Di  xoxo

C.S.I. Challenge #4 "Dreams"

Hello blog land friends. I have just finished my layout for challenge #4 over at C.S.I.  I so love this colour pallette but I really had to think about the evidence & testimony part of the challenge. Anyway here is my layout.
I am really happy how this turned out. Isn't it great when it just comes together!!! It didn't end up anything like how I had in mind when I started. For the "evidence" part of the challenge you have to pick at least two things to use from the list. I have used tulle (tied in a knot with string), something shiney is my frame & locket, stripes & a frame.
For the "Testimony" part of the challenge you have to pick a least one component from the list. I have chosen to journal in a frame.

I do so love the little quote I have used here too. I have really enjoyed doing this challenge. Thanks so much Debbie for such a great criteria. I will absolutely be joining in the fun again. Until next time.
Cheers Di  xoxo
