Scrap the Boys March Challenge
"Life is Good"

Hello all. Finished this in the nick of time with only two days to spare. Talk about cutting it fine!!! This months challenge criteria over at Scrap the Boys was
Title is "Life is Good" + Handwritten Journalling +
Red somewhere on the page
I just wasn't sure what I wanted to do & on Monday I came up with the idea that  instead of bright red I would do the muted reds of Autumn.
Now for my background I have used loads of Gesso & muslin to create these lovely textures & then I think I have used about four bottles of Glimmermist!!!! Well maybe not quite that much but I just kept layering it on until I was happy with the colours.
Now I also did lots of stamping ie. the "brick wall"  & this big "fly" stamp is a new one I only got last week & I just had to use it. It is a NEW Pink Paislee set, I soooo love their stamp sets.
I have used some lovely Green Tara "Autumn Leaves" which I just love as well as this gorgeous little birds nest. I've had this for ages & I just needed the right page for it.
I have done my journaling on this little Seven Gypsies card & tucked it in behind the photo, fussy cut this cute little bird, distressed all my edges, sewed around the page, did some more stamping on my background  & generally had FUN with it.
Before I started this page I really had no idea of what I was going to do. I had this photo of my  friend's son that I had been dying to scrap but that was all I knew. I really went crazy with various mediums, lots of different coloured Glimmermists & just used lots of left over bits that were cluttering up my work space. I do so love it when it just all comes together & it leads you along.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you like my page. Until next time.
Cheers Di xoxo

My "2 Crafty" DT Post
Captured Memories

Hi everyone. Just a quick share today. This is my 2 Crafty DT post that has just gone up on their blog. I am right into the whole Kraft & white thing at the moment & here I have have added some yellow. I have done lots of sewing, distressing & border punching here. All the flowers, lace & the bow are all Green Tara goodies of course. The big yellow flower is one of their NEW fabric flowers.
Here I have used a 2 Crafty chippie fence which I have used a crackle paint & Gesso on to add to the already old feeling that this "Rustic Fence" has.
Next I have used another 2 Crafty chippie Birdcage. This little cage is one from  their ATC range. They make all these fab little bits for cards & ATC's but sometimes I like to use these little pieces on layouts too.
Lastly I have used another 2 Crafty chippie word. This one here I have cut up to make the two words seperate to have that extra freedom of placement. Too easy.
Well I hope you like my layout & maybe pop over to the 2 Crafty blog to see what the other DT girls have been up to. Thanks for stoppin by & any comments you may care to leave.  Until next time.
Cheers Di  xoxo

White With 1 March Challenge
"Sweet Memories"

Hi everyone.  I have just finished my layout for this months challenge over at White With 1 . This months challenge was to use
White + Kraft + Layers.
I do soooo love this colour combo. So fresh & inviting.
I actually did this layout last year but I was never happy with it!!!! Soooo I pulled the entire layout apart & totally re made it. (I seem to be doing this a bit lately)!!! The only things I re used is the frame & the pic, I tossed everything else back into my stash & started all over again. Now I am happy with it. Does anybody else do this from time to time or is it  just me being kooky?
I do so love this gorgeous chippy page frame. I gave it some texture with Impasto Medium before I painted it white. I do so love doing white on white, where it all comes down to the textures for contrast. I have added lots of Kraft bits & bobs behind the photo as well as these gorgeous Graphic 45 Kraft buttons up in the corner. I have also used loads of yummy Green Tara goodies including flowers, gorgeous maple leaves,  ribbon (bow) & fringed trim.
I hope you like my layout & thanks so much for stoppin by.
 Until next time.
Cheers Di  xoxo

#101 The Color Room"Angel Wings"
Yeah!!! I was "Featured"

Yeah!!!! I was "featured" in The Color Room today. How exciting. I'm so happy. Thanks so much to the DT that voted for my layout & to everyone who left such beautiful comments. I do sooooo  appreciate it.
Thanks Di  xoxo
Hi everyone. I've just  finished  off my layout for the current challenge #101 over at The Color Room. As always the colour pallete was so soft & pretty & a friend of mine gave me this photo she had taken by a photographer recently of her new baby girl.  If you look close at the pic you will see they have little fairy wings on her back. Her name is Baby Evelyn. All those lovely old fashioned names are making a comeback.
I though this pallette & this pic were a match made in heaven, although these photos the colour looks a lot more mauve than it really is.  I really wanted to do a super girly, over the top flowery feminine layout.
I have used so many gorgeous Green Tara flowers. They have just released a NEW fabric flower range to go with all there other lovely flowers. ALL of these flowers & velvet  leaves are Green Tara & cost  well under some of the other well known brands. All of these flowers cost under $9 retail, not bad value hey. The big white one in the centre is one of the new ones, so yummy. The lace is also a Green Tara one.
For my background &  have done Gesso butterflies & loads of Glimmermist in a couple of different colours. The background paper is one of the new release Prima papers, although you can't really see it!!
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you like my layout, until next time.   Cheers Di  xoxo
